One revelation, however, that will have raised the eyebrow of many a royal watcher, involves not gargantuan energy generators or classic cars, but soft furnishings and wallpaper samples.Prince William, we now know, has removed Queen Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot, from the Duchy of Cornwall’s payroll. The 75-year-old has masterminded the interior design of the estates ever since King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, employed her following his marriage to Camilla in 2005.
Renovating the Palace’s period cottages across Cornwall, Wales and the Isles of Scilly, Elliot, who studied fine art in Florence, earned hundreds of thousands of pounds across almost two decades in her role as chief designer.
