King Charles’s Jealousy of Princess Diana Is So Different From His Relationship With Queen Camilla
King Charles's contentious relationship with the late Princess Diana is well-known now, with everything from infidelity to jealousy marking their time together. But according to royal experts, Charles learned from his past to ensure that his time with Queen Camilla is markedly different from his first marriage. After seeing how her popularity eclipsed his own as soon as she entered the spotlight, Charles was reportedly seething with jealousy. These days, he's shifted to being "proud" of his wife and insiders say that the public has taken notice, as well, turning their perspective on Camilla and beginning to embrace her more and more.
"I think that whereas Charles was rather jealous of Diana's success, he could not be more proud of Camilla, who has come to this role late in life and without the safety net of an adoring public," former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told The Mirror. "These difficult few months will have made his love even deeper."
